martha is innocent, obviously racism was rampant in the 60's but baseball was much more progressive than society as a whole

I wouldn't be too sure about that, sorry to say this but yes I am somewhat of a baseball freak, and yes, i do know as a fact that baseball was no better than society....do some reading, specifically a book titled 'The Boys of Summer"....(good book) a first-hand account of the racism Jackie Robinson faced in the MLB, it wasnt any better...Please believe me

i dont all the facts but the person who told me does u should talk with him, im not sayin there wasnt racism in baseball, im sayin it was less than society in general and that he was more accepted by ballplayers because of his talent

A message to the Redsox and their fans- R.I.P., as for the Cubs i guess i can feel some sorrow, but they have been a "3rd tier" team for too long for me to put much thought into it (good, hopefully seeing this girl, now i can die happy...damn that just sounded pathetic)

here are my thoughts, yankess are good, but they spend to much money to not win the WS every year, myself love the marlins and rangers, (born in texas, moved to florida at age 3, moved back at age 16), all i can say about this previous WS is ..... LOL, but, no disrespect to you, i just hate the yankess, not you, and now i hate the yankers even more for taking arod, and btw, i think the astros will be a contender this year, solid pitching staff, with great defense and awesome offense, and pls dotn try to deny that the astros are a solid team this year Smile

THe Astros are indeed a solid team, after taking arguably the best Yankee pitcher in Pettite, and now having a great 5 man rotation. Clemens is old and you never know with old pitchers, they can go on forever like Nolan Ryan or break down before your eyes like Randy Johnson might be...However all of this won't matter when the Yankees show up in town and give any teams a major whomping!

the astors were contenders last yr, didnt the cubs bump them out of the playoffs with a last minute win against my team, the cardinals should have also made it they made up half the all star team lol, did the dodgers make it i dont remeber but i remember a lot of talk about them being contenders last yr and again this yr

The astros spelled out their own doom with another fallout in the second half of the season, and as for the dodgers....they had the pitching that could easily win it all but were also one of the worst offensive teams in recent times, that is for a team seen as a contender...they never had the record to really make a run for the playoffs and this year well its always the same response to a teams fate...TBD
