Power supply?
#1
Ok a new problem has arisen for me. in the past week i've upgraded video cards 3 times until i found the one i wanted. now i'm using a Geforce BFG 6200 OC. Here's the problem...

when i try to run games using the source engine my computer restarts before the main screen loads (you know how they're animated). my BFG 5500 worked fine for the source games but when i upgraded last night to the equally priced 6200 i couldn't get into HL2, CS:S, or Lost Coast.

Right now i'm running a 250w power supply and thats the minimum for this graphics card, but it was also the minimum for the 5500. so this new card is either drawing more power than the 5500 was or something's just not compatible between the card and the games.

If any of you had a similar expirience let me know how you resolved it. i may just need a new power supply...

You definitely need a new PSU. You can get a 400W ATX PSU for pretty cheap (10-20 bucks). http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis...rder=price Any of these would be fine, although I would recommend 350-400 watts of course.
