So at the moment i cant afford making a exile...i read the cheap smiter guide, and a lot of people said different things on which shield to use. so what shield should i use if i want to do ubers and maybe uber trist?

a spirit with 40+res is the cheapest u can get, obviously made in an elite pally shield, and fyi royal shield isnt an elite shield, even though some idiots think it is. on ladder it is by far the cheapest shield u can get. considering even the shittiest hoz is worth like 2hr...
and if u use spirit, u can make in a low requiring shield such as sacred rondache and save on some str. and yes u CAN kill ubers with a spirit, ive done it

... absolutly not.
the dmg of a uped hoz compared to a spirit shield is as though u had +2 more in smite, which isnt that much... therefor it is NOT harder

if u had exile, you can get life tap, which pretty much seals the deal for u
u can't get that with spirit

well doesnt your dmg come from crushing blow anyways so you dont really need that much dmg just the finishing blow. but exile does have lifetap, just pick up a shitty one. as long as you got lots of crushing blow and lifetap on meph you should be fine.

he says he cant afford exile... use a lifetap wand to start lifetap, and sooner or later dracs will cast it.
and u can get lifetap from a LW weapon if u use one  but i doubt u do

i agree with Link... a spirit in an elite pally shield with high resist is by far the cheapest route... and a step up from that would be a sanctuary...

Sanctuary paladin shield with high base resistances are amazing. The shield itself is a bit hard to get, unless you're willing to settle for less. I have a fairly low one on West NL for sale if you're interested.
