rune hunting..

what is the best place to go rune hunting? i know charms are randomly drop but whoever but where is the best place to get HRs and skill charms?

i've heard hell travincal is best place to find runes...but i've never found a hr anywhere except baal minions

Hellforge doesn't drop highrunes...

Countess drops some, not very often, hell andy dropped a vex, and hell baal has dropped me a cham, but other people got it first.

There isn't a best place to look for skillers and hrs. Runes drop randomly, so its all luck with runes and charms can be rerolled.

before this argument starts AGAIN, i'll say this: hell countess can drop up to Lo as her, i guess you could call it 'automatic rune'. her and her minions are also capable of dropping up to zod. so theoretically you could get a Lo and a zod from one countess run. there, so now theres no need to discuss what runes countess can drop again.

I have picked up 2 or 3 hr with my bot doing pindle and eldrich. That's about it except for trading.

i found a Vex From the Summonjer once and that was the only high rune i ever found..

hmm thats weird. well anyhow, i got a mal off of her.. i run her everysingle day, with a non teleing barb so it takes forever! lol

Mal is number 23 out of 33 on the rune list, Lo is 28.

countess drops up to Lo, her minions (not her) drop all runes up to Zod

Best I got from Countess was an Ist, Mal, and several Ums. The best place, I've heard, to find plain skill gcs is nightmare cows. *shrugs*

Countess auto rune drop goes up to Ist, Her monster class drop can drop the Lo rune, her minions can drop any rune.

Jdiep, no you have a higher chance of getting high runes and skillers in hell than nightmare. Monsters in nightmare dont have the monster level to drop high runes anyway, and the higher the level of the monster the higher the charm item levels are which means better mods and higher chance of getting these good mods.

If you try hunting in nightmare you will reduce your chances even further.

Countess is always a good one for runes... just cube everything you get till you reach puls or ums. Hell cows used to be alright, both cows and chests in the area. I get about 1hr a week off shenk/eldritch runs (a whole lot of runs).

As for charms, Andy and Dury have the highest chance to drop charms and Jewelry (although SOJ specifically slightly higher by nm Andy). Skill charms specifically Im not sure if there is a best place, But as someone mentioned before you can always reroll charms (3 p gems in cube). Baal, Nil, and Diablo would prolly be the best charms to use for rerolling although they dont drop many.

Why do I keep hearing nm Andy for SOJ? I have only found 2 but not from Andy.

I only found three myself from shenk/eld, but then again I dont do andy runs, but I have seen people do them. Once in a while you even see a sorc offering to do nm andy quests (quests give you better drops). the calculator you d/l from this site also predicts nm andy for the highest SOJ drop rate. In general I can only attest from personal experience to getting alot of generic charms/jewelry from dury and andy (where as those are rare on say meph). I guess the more jewelry that drops the better chance one of them will be a SOJ. no idea why nm andy specifically is the best though...sorry phal.

In about 20 andy and/or dury runs you can easily see they drop more jewelry than meph or baal if you want to test that one out; its a pretty substantial difference ~10x more likely according to the drop calculator. (if I remmeber right)

nm andy is best partly because when she drops a unique ring it will either be an soj, nagel, or manald. it cannot be anything else.

Sorry for getting off topic. Thanks Mike for the info; I never checked a drop calculator. Does the drop calculator work for runes too?

Since my bot sorce hit level 94, she seems to be finding better stuff, 2 hr in the first week. Does CharLevel have anything to do with it? My mf hasn't changed.
