Sorry, I was referring to the "Drop Calculator" the was discussed previously. It sounds like it calculates the chance to drop certain items and I was wondering if runes were included in the items.

yes runes are included... took me a minute to find think they are under misc items or something like that. you can search what monster has the best chance to drop a lo (countess hell im sure) or what runes are Meph most likely to drop kind of thing. Works nicely and the values between items seem consistant with all my experience, although the accuracy on their absolute value I have no idea.

would runes also have diminishing returns? b/c after the mal from countess, i cant find anything good anymore

runes work in a strange way, they have three settings which determine what rune will drop,
First the Game selects what Rune Group will drop Theres about 15 odd groups with different runes in them.
Then the game checks to see if the group will go down to the next one based on a % and so on till it either selects a group or picks rune group 1
After selecting the Rune group it then picks the rune to drop from the group.

The higher the group the higher the chance it will go down a group, its something like 1/200,000 of not going down a group for the highest group which is either Zod on its own or Zod and Cham and 1/3 of going dow to group 1 from Group 2.

So in theory all those crappy el runes you go from hell might have had the potensial to be high runes.

for skillers do hellcows. i find most of mine in there and also mini ubers after killing bosses kill the minions and open all chests. i found pcomb life gc in a chest and 4all res sc out of a grave with little to no mf on.

for runes, only hr i ever saw drop was off baal minion(jah) but you can also find them good off countess. i've never found anything good in trav i don't see why people even still do it.

and is there any way to get the "higher group"? say with more players or such?

as far as im aware there is no factor for getting higher runes, more players might increase the frequency of runes dropping but wont lower the chances of dropping down rune groups or getting the higher groups
