North Korea On The Drugs?
#1
They may not be bound by any laws, but they better damn well watch wtf they do. Any accidents and I'm sure these "Diplomatic" soulutions will go right out the window and we will have a nice part where North Korea used to be made of glass. (For those who don't understand, the extreme heat caused by a nuclear explosion causes the ground to melt and most sediments have a coating that looks like glass after being exposed to such heat.)

If you've ever seen, or read about their current leader ( and by the way, they are still communist, for anyone who didnt know =P) , he's kinda listed as a psychopath. Kim Jong IL , lead's secret communist party's and regime's, thwarting more power to himself, making his country terrified of him. The economy of N. Korea is also very shitty. Aside from natural disaster's, floods, storms, Kim Jong reject's thought's of trying to modernise and fix his country. And even though Vietnam is long over...N. & S. Korea are still technically at war with each other. I doubt its the drugs, it's just the crazy leader.

first of all i doubt that we would nuke or ever occupy n korea. this is because there is nothing of value there. period. they dont have any resources or anything. iraq and afganistan has oil, and thats why we invaded. iran also has oil, so it would be more likely for us to worry about them

We wouldn't. Look what happened with Vietnam. And yeah your right, half the reason why were at war with the Middle East, is because of the Oil Tankers. God forbid, if we lost the oil, the economy here in the US would be so ****ing screwed upmad: . Not to mention social problems would arise also with some conflict's regarding money and gas. But yeah Korea has no value to us, We lost a war to them 30 years ago (:Confusedighs for "John Rambo" type veteran's::confused: ) , and were already in a war anyways. China has even told us, not to bomb against Korea, because then people would be flooding China more, and their government doesn't want the Korean's in their country.:p

you are ****ing stupid. in case you forgot, the US has already sent troops into korea in the past, so there goes your entire crappy post. second, did japan, germany, vietnam, bosnia, or any other random country we sent troops to have oil? no. and we invaded afghanistan and iraq because of terrorism, not oil, you dumbass

Hmm....Well, I was kinda talking about what value's(RESOURCES) the Middle East had, comparing it with/against Korea. I know the whole terrorist thing, look at my location ass, I was in the city that day when 9/11 happened.

location is no excuse for stupidity...since you proclaim to have been in the middle of 911, you of all people should realize that the reasons for sending troops to iraq and afghanistan are not resources

from kim jong il to the vietnam war to the war on "terrorism"
this thread is already of topic !!
the use of a nuke would lead to countless deaths and the partial destruction of the life in south and possably north korea not to mention that if the us launched a nuke other countries might just do the same and target the us and well you get the picture
the missle testing was majorly blown out of porportion by the media hes not giving a damn because he knows that the us or any nation can do anything
about it other than give verbal threats
(ug damn faulty firefox >.>)

i sense a possible problem here.

Psycopath + Nuclear Weapons = Blown of proportion?

What the hell to you want the media to do? Thats there god damn job. I dont believe that the US will do anything if something happens that what we have allies for. South Korea, Russia, Japan, and China are all within the immediate area of a failed test. Hell did anyone read how they shot the Taepodong-2. In case you don't know ther shot it as if they were trying to get it to enter space. (perpendicular to the ground) I don't know about you but possibly thats a bad idea? Yes we could do something chances are we won't, but going to Iraq was to fight terrorism and to possibly prevent a war later on in the future.

I've been following the North Korea story for quite some time, and it's turning out to be a very interesting.

North Korea is nuclear capable, they have detonated a nuclear bomb on their own soil, and as I'm sure you all know they fired several dummy 'test' missles on and following the 4th of July (America's birthday for all non U.S. readers). If anything this just showed the world that North Korea is incapable of delivering nukes in an intercontinental missle. The missles that made it the farthest were actually SCUD's that were purchased from China. No real threat.

Kim Jong Il (sp?) has the mentality of a child, seriously. A spoiled one. During the Clinton years we negoiated with him by sending aid in the form of food and other resources, and also upon request of Kim we sent him a basketball signed by Michael Jordan. He kept his nuclear reasearch low-key (Don't listen to Allbright's 'successful' North Korean litigations BS) during those years.

When Bush went into office, he simply ignored Korea, which I think is best. And like a spoiled chiled he started fussing, he tested a nuclear bomb, he is testing missles aimed towards Japan (or just showing them off) to get himself back into the polotical limelight.

His country is in ruins, all the citizens are literally brainwashed in thinking Kim is some supreme leader. It smacks of Orwell's 1984, people who disagree with him are either sent to reeducation camps or imprisioned. He is a cruel and opressive ruler, but his country and the way he's handled it is a joke.

Japan is already threatening military action against him, there has been a long and rocky relationship between the two countries, mostly originating from a dispute of the ownership of several islands north of Japan that are internationally recognized as part of Japan (and hence inhabited by Japaniese and governed by Japan), though all maps made in Korea list these as North Korean terrotority, even the sea East of Korea which is recognized as the East Sea or Sea of Japan is considered East Korean Sea to North Korea.

This guy is a menace, I hope he keeps pressing his luck until he forces the hand of Japan, China or Russia (who seem unusually silent towards the entire matter).

As for the missles he's been sending, I think it'd be in our own best interest to start blasting them off their pads with our own missles, in essence taking away the spoiled brat's toys.

Additional Comment:
Also may I add that Kim Jong has threatened action against the U.S. if we invade Iran. It's considered an empty threat, our Military is capable of crushing any of North Korea's attacks and sequestrating their miserable little country

I agree very much deadly. BTW, do you mean Iran? I believ thats what I heard on the radio not too long ago. Russia won't do anything or China neither one of them is that interested in going to war with North Korea. They both think that it will be look bad in the publics opinion and that such thing would be costly. Putan is a *****, end of story.

Er yes, I did mean Iran. Corrected.

Russia and China have a solid alliance together, though whatever they do with their alliance is their own buisness.

As with most my opinions dealing with foreign affairs, we should let them do what the want, and if it acts against our own interests then that is when we attack.

Additional Comment:

The missles that went the farthest weren't even made by Korea and aren't large enough to carry a nuclear payload.

Korea has nuclear capability, but no means to deliver said ordnance across the world like we can. Japan's zero-tolerance propsal i think is along the right lines, we should start blasting these things off the platforms as soon as they go up. Due to their rocky past, Japan is more likely to recieve the brunt of a Korean attack then we are.

Japan's been at war with korea/china since midevish times. i think they resolved with china though. anyways, I thought japan wasn't allowed to raise a big army since it was negotiation terms when they surrendered and we put troops stationed in japan?

I believe we can temporarily nullify the terms if it is for defense of there country. If they were up-to-date on the warheads they were using they could fly a warhead on a scud, I believe. To bad we dont make any weapons of mass destruction anymore. Scientists thought of an idea of something called anti-matter. (I don't believe its possible to make unless you could isolate it in a perfect vaccum.) Anti-matter reacts violently with matter (everything) less than a tablespoon of anti-matter can cause a reaction the size of 10 nuclear warheads. (KA-BOOOM!) and produce temperatures up to twice the heat of the suns surface.

Additional Comment:
I found this thought it was sort of interesting. A guys shadow burned into the wall in Hiroshima after the atom bomb was dropped.

http://history.independence.co.jp/ww2/raid/h02.jpg

Apparently the light was so bright that it litterally burned this guys shadow into the wood of this building. Some sites I saw said when this happens the people and objects that the shadows are of are usually incinerated.
