Don't touch windows vista for a year in my opinion. The security risks they got into that thing, a freshly written network stack... there are bugs in it they haven't had since Windows 95 and they are being pressured to meet the release date. It's going to be like XP before Service Pack 2 but worse...

help you out with getting the parts.
a mother board doesnt cost much.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6813131578
thats a pretty good one for under 90 bucks.
but first, what do you want? b/c with a new motherboard, chances are you will need a new cpu. and the new cpu socket (what you put the cpu in) determines whether or not it is a AMD or Intel compatible motherboard or vice versa. and then from there you choose whether or not it will be AGP or PCI Express (the video card slot)
your motherboard determines also what kind of RAM you will use and other things. i know this can be a bit overwhelming at first, but you will eventually get it.

can somebody please answer this question?
hellsing293 Wrote:downloading an intergrated vid card or checking my motherboard or something?
and i'm not sure i can do it if i need a totally new motherboard because i can't do it myself(even with help because i'm too retarded and will wreck something) and because it'd be too much trouble just for a better vid card. idk i'm going for a harddrive upgrade soon so i will ask the people at pcw.

You can't download integrated video. It's in a little chip on your motherboard.

no you cannot.
you see you have a integrated video card, that means it is in the motherboard itself. you cant insert another one, (like how you put in ram). the mobo just doesnt have a slot for the video card.

... Ok, again, I don't want to sound like an ass to Mob because at least he's trying to help.
You can't put in another integrated video card. Because A) it's not a card and B) that wouldn't be intregrated anymore.
If your computer is 5 years old you have PCI slots no doubt. You can buy a PCI video card (they're like 50 bucks now?) but you still won't be able to play any current games. At least unless they're not graphics heavy and shit.
It's not hard to put them in. All you do is open your computer and at the bottom you'll have little black (usually black anyway...) slots and it'll slide right in. Then you just take your monitor cable and plug it into the card instead of the back of the mobo.
Like I said above, if you just IM me we can get this sorted out right away.
