What are you referring to Spoon. Your not making any sense.

You know its hard to change another person on what they believe in. Especially on something so controversial and hard to disprove or prove. Believe me I tried in school. This subject is much too hard to persuade anybody. I mean how many people on this forum or anybody who has watched the video, has changed their thoughts about God? Virtually none, and its going to remain that way no matter what evidence is brought forth. I have not believed in God ever since I heard his name, even though I hope there is one that protect us.
Please add to my Reputation if you find my post reasonable, beneficial, or helpful. Thanks. =]

You're seeing as a perspective from your times, trust me, ages ago there where disbelievers. You can't say it's getting easier when you weren't around ages ago, it may seem like it's getting more and that people disbeleive now, but for ****s sake, why should we? why shouldn't we?
There isn't a good ground to stand on, on either side.
You either beleive and get berated for beleiving, or you don't beleive and you get berated for not beleiving, if it's not something someone holds dear, why suffer such attacks? It's easier to not care. Why get mixed up in something we will most likely never know the truth on?

YouTube - 7. Secret Rulers of the World - Forbidden Link [7/29]

this whole series tries to tie together everything for the past 5,000 years together in one continuous chain of events. of course that's a ridiculous thing to try and do but the scope is very narrow so it is probably good info.

anyway, for those of you that read the bible this is a must see. i was so amazed when i saw this, it just makes so much sense.

this video is taken from a 29 part series on youtube. the series is called "secret rulers of the world" part 6 and 7 have to do with the discussion here.

i tried going through the links posted in the zeitgeist debunked link but it's just too much info, it's 6am! i really only care about the parts dealing with the zodiac. i've already heard about the debunkings of the similarities of jesus/paganism. i heard someone mention micheal tsarion somewhere. he's a great storyteller but i finally got around to checkin on his source the mayan "papul vuh" recently and the quotes he takes from it are not random only in the sense that he's used them to fit his own story. the papul vuh is one hell of a book, but nothing much factual to say the least.

You're arguing how factual something is while referring us to a Youtube series?

lol, i wonder if you counted up all the times god hiself has come to earth in all the religions what the number would be. at least 50-100 in the last few thousand years. i guess people are just too stupid to remember anything.

what's wrong with youtube? it's gotta be one of the greatest inventions in the last 10 years. if you watched a video on youtube telling you that taking vitamin C was good for you you wouldn't have a problem with that. you just don't like it because it's "taboo" to go against religion. besides, if you don't like youtube then why are you holding religious discussions in a diablo forum spoonman? i bet your courage will shorten before you start bashing these forums. which are pretty cool imo.

personally i don't think it matters if jesus was real or if it's aliens or if it's all just random people doing random stuff. i've always like ancient history andit's a hell of a lot more exciting than law and order or friends or any other dumb crap on tv.

It's taboo? I'm agnostic, questioning religion is kind of my thing, and I wouldn't question the Vitamin C thing because I know it's good for already...However if I saw a video on Youtube of the meaning of life, I'd probably think it was a crock of shit.

Oh, and people have heard me say plenty of times that this forum has too many 12 year olds who think they know what they're talking about. I'm here for the same reason as anyone else, I have at some point played D2 and I'm bored out of my mind.

When I do argue something I argue with facts and am usually more than happy to cite sources, as you found out during our 9/11 debate, I don't buy into conspiracies.

spoon i don't see a point? just what are you saying?

i remember the "9/11 debate".. i guess you were one of the guys riding up in my ass. everything you posted as a source was crap, especially the popular science article. i remember that.

as far as facts are concerned, you don't know jack s**t and neither do most people, including myself. facts and proof are best left for the courtrooms if you're looking for something definitive. i don't know why you're so hung up on "proving" something. it's just f'n stories man, like it or not.

Even though God tortures and kills people (Job and his offspring) in the bible and even goes as far as to flood the entire world.

Dude, your sources in that debate where a Youtube video and what your brother told you. I apologize for not being gullible.

My point is you coming in and slinging this story of Cleopatra being Christ's mother is retarded and it's people who believe shit like that which make me believe the world is hopeless.

What about people who believe in the Bible, Book of Morman or $cientology? Obviously all of those are bullshit yet hordes of people believe them.

spoon - that's because you think there's a right answer to the question. your little brain can't accept the fact that you're never going to know. i don't know why you keep bringing up your agnosticism, like someone asked you. sounds like you're hiding behind it so that you don't have to take responsibility for not knowing everything.

ragna - i think religion is a way for people to fill up the intuitive sides of their minds w/o much effort. music and art etc are better than religion for that purpose but lots of people love religion. i wouldn't say the bible is bullshit though, it's ancient history, it's literature, it's poetry, it fact and fiction. it's a lot of things.

scientology is total crap though, i tried reading that book once, dianetics i think. i was full to the teeth before i finished the first pages. it's inane ramblings of a semi-pyschotic lunatic.

mormons - jeez..

Some stories in the Bible have some factual basis in history, I actually look at the Bible as one of the greatest stories ever written, though a fictional one for the most part. And I think Mormons and Scientologists are out of their damned minds.

I brought up my Agnosticism once, you act like I've been having an Agnostic pride parade. The fact of the matter is that being Agnostic is admitting I don't know what the truth is and probably never will. Sounds like you just don't know shit.

In fact the Merriam Webster Dictionary describes it as "a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (as God) is unknown and probably unknowable; broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god."

Despite that fairly precise explanation many of us have our own definition of it, as for myself I believe in the possibility of a higher power but once again I can't prove or disprove it. So please, understand a person's view point before you attempt to insult them by calling them exactly what they already are, in this case, unsure.

No, I just post more than one line of sarcasm, which is probably why no matter how many times I've insulted this board people still like me...Which I never could understand people who think highly of those that berate them.
