Iron Man

Ok yall,I have yet to go and see the movie, but I am hearing some amazing things about it.don't worry about spoiling it for me,but please,if you would, tell me why everyone is so emphatic about "You HAVE to see it Pam!!"

With movie prices nowadays,I don't drag my ass out to see as many as I would like to.

So here is your chance to describe what's so great, and if I should bother.
Also I hear it is based on the comic book (I never read it so this means nothing to me),and that it is a good job.confused:

well unlike every other comic book --> Movie this is actually well made. Robert Downey Jr acts pretty well in it, and frankly the movie is just fucking cool. Besides the Dudemeister from the big Lebowski is in it. Good enough a reason right there.

Oddly enough,I really put stock in YOU saying this,in particular. For those that don't know Mike,he tells it pretty straight-up,and is rarely"WOW"ed by current trend.

I was more leery for exactly what you stated. Most comics--->Movies would have been better left as comicsbooks.

What intrigued me most, you did not mention special effects ...AT ALL! You pointed out acting, and actors.

Not even someone IRL has said any of that to me so far.
Well done Fuggy! Now I am interested in seeing it as a good movie, and not as Hollywoods latest splash and hype.

On a side note: If you don't want a real opinion, don't ask Mike what he thinks...ever...he will TELL you,and then just as likely call you a brainless bitch/bastard...or whichever may apply to YOU...

It's directed by Jon Favreau (Swingers) so that = awesome right there and to top it off he even makes a cameo as "Happy" Hogan, Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) driver and best friend. And of course El Duderino (Jeff Bridges) did a pretty good job as Stain but what really makes this movie awesome is that they include the depth to the character that was established in the comics about his conflict with his company and actually did it well. I've seen it twice already and if that isn't enough it's officially the second highest grossing opening weekend of any non-sequel movie EVER.

Like Spoon said the fact that they actually used the first movie, since its obviouse there will be others, to build the characters instead of jumping right into the action and blowing off character development as second fiddle is what really made this movie shine.

On a completely different note I had a geekgasam when I saw the first Iron Man suit being put on RDJ.
