once you've downloaded the mod, extract all the files and put them into your diablo 2 folder. but make sure you make a backup of your d2 folder so you can play the regular game whenever u want to.

omg... ok do this.

put the zip file into your diablo II folder.
if you cant find the diablo II folder use the method i posted above to get there.

now, right click on it and click "extract to here" then there ya go. if a file comes out, then take the stuff in the file and put it back into the diablo II folder.

and there, your done!

windows 2000? why not just shoot yourself, lol.

anyway. just look for a "my computer" icon on your desktop. then when you double click on that, you should see a "C:\ Drive" icon. double click on that. then you should scroll down and see a file that says "Program Files". then you double click on that and scroll down and you should see the folder "Diablo II". unzip the files into there and voila, your mod is set up. double click on the d2 icon and play away!

1. Find the directory with your Diablo II.exe file in it. You can do this
by looking in the properties for your Diablo II shortcut. For example, your
Diablo II.exe might be in "C:\Program Files\Diablo II". Through the
rest of these instructions we will call this folder "the diablo folder".
2. Make a folder inside your diablo folder named dropmod (the name doesn't
really matter if you consistently substitute another name).
3. Optional: If you have a good unzip program and know how to use it
you can skip several steps by unzipping the files now using your
zip program's "extract using paths" feature, this should extract the
dropmod files into dropmod/data/global/excel/*.txt. If you do this, continue
with step 8, otherwise skip this step and continue with step 4.
4. Open your new dropmod folder, and create a new folder named inside it named "data".
5. Open the new "data" folder and create another new folder inside it,
this time named "global".
6. Open the new "global" folder and create a new folder inside it
named "excel". At this point you will have created 4 new folders, each
inside the previous one, and the name of the last folder will be
\dropmod\data\global\excel underneath your diablo game folder.
7. Using your unzip program, extract all the mod files into the excel folder.
There should be three of them: monstats.txt, TreasureClassEx.txt and UniqueItems.txt.
8. Create a new shortcut by copying your existing diablo shortcut and renaming
the new shortcut to something like "Diablo II - LOD text mod".
9. Open the properties of the new shortcut (rightclick on it and select properties)
and find the "target" property on the shortcut tab.
You need to add " -direct -txt" to the end of it, so that if it was:

"C:\Program Files\Diablo II.exe"

it becomes

"C:\Program Files\Diablo II.exe" -direct -txt

Notice that you must add the -direct -txt outside the quoted part.

10. Run your shortcut, and start a game. You should see a bunch of .bin
files appear in the excel folder. If not, you messed up steps 3 to 7.
11. Go fight a monster. It should fall over easily and drop a pile of stuff.
I particularly recommend a paladin with a damage aura like Holy Freeze.
Monsters will be dieing before you even see them.

This is how you install Drop Mod (Gamma 2 Version for Diablo II & Lod 1.10)
