Im Christian, why arent you?
math could comeback, and im not being sarcastic. I think we should stop arguing about the triviality of Christianity, cuz' whether we like it or not, it looks like its going to stay (same with every major religion) i vote to start venting and complaining about scientology for obvious reasons.
In all respect, this thread is about Christianity.

It's meant for our views to be spoken on the matter, so if you want to start a discussion on scientology, start a new thread.

Oh and Math... I really don't think you're in any position to demand that someone speak like a mature person... it's very hypocritical of you.

I will not waste a few months of my short life reading something that has no relevance or relation to me whatsoever.

I'll stick to novels on murder, rape and other real world issues, kthx Smile

Dude, you say the most retarded things and act like they are completely a fact. It annoys the f*ck out of me. I don't know where you get your little "facts" from, but you need to stop.

I think some of your facts have been subject to misinterpretation or misunderstanding. I give you credit where I believe credit to be due, but sometimes you don't make as much sense as you could, or you're just wrong. I don't want to turn this into a "tell Math what he does wrong" thread, so I'll end it with saying that you should double-check your facts and, when in doubt, just link to the page you get them. People will leave you alone about it more that way. You have the fact that people are biased against you as soon as they start reading threads on this forum to overcome, and that will at least help.

I wouldn't take Wiki as being the most accurate source of information.

A lot of things you've tried to say that have come from there haven't been overly accurate, Math.

And yes, you are hypocritical. More so than anyone I have ever met.

its more accurate than most fanatic christian sites. better wikipedia than a heavly biased site, wouldent you agree?

Most fanatical Christian sites aren't online encyclopedias, either, so I don't really see how that's relavent. Yes, it is a great place to find information. Just make sure you know it for fact before you post. Or as close to fact as you can get, depending.

Watch the science channel more often, really cool and interesting shows that give the low down on how things are. Some of the things they proved is that the universe is slightly curved(one speculation is that everything is in one big "bubble" and there's other "bubbles" floating around with us). They've showed how planets and galaxies are created. Scientist also have found out the round-about distance that a planet needs to be from their sun in order for life to bloom like it has here and they have actually located a planet just like ours 70,000 light years away and is 4x the size of earth. The universe is too vast and unknown to make an arrogant suggestion that ONE man/woman created earth and everything around us. If that's the case then where did this "God" come from? perhaps ONE person did create all this and they were from a far more advanced civilization. On a side note, about the existence of ghost or spirits my personal opinion is that were all made up of energy or something of the sorts and when people die our energy is released and we descend upon a higher plane of existence and that's what we sometimes witness. I'm in no way a scientoligest just someone who believes were too small to be so important.
well tell me.. what civilization can create a universe from scratch? Christianity was meant for oldish times and peiople who like oldish times (should be obvious). God did not intend for us to colonize other worlds (it isnt mentioned in the bible)

God can create anyhting and defy any law that we invented. God has no limits. (again the bible)

have you watched star trek? im not suggesting you do but in that future, we are important. important at being communist peusedo science assholish peopel who cant stop being so assholish. (every star trek episode)

There is a REASON I stayed away from this thread.
Beliefs are personal, and to answer the posted question YES I am Christian.

People have faiths based not only on how they were raised, but where they were born and the experiences in their life.

My question for MYSELF is NOT am I a good Christian,but...have I made a difference?
When I stand in judgment for my life...have I helped the world, mankind in general, family or friends in particular?

Isn't that more important than persecuting others for thinking differently than Christians?
Should we not lead by example, with love, patience, forgiveness and strength?
Strength that we will always reach out to those in need no matter their faith?

Just a thought, but the whole world uses the Christian calander , 2008 about to be 2009..ponder that a moment.

Exactly, we dont have hard facts about whats really going on out in space and with so many religious people in our world i think that most of us are in a way agoraphobic to our planet because of the implication that "god" really doesn't exist. If we hadn't discovered religion do you think we would of had more astrological technologies and have more realistic resources?(That's a real question btw, curious of other peoples opinion). I know that one of saturn's or Jupitor's moons has oceans of liquid natural gas so that right there could end our fuel crisis if we could reach it in time. Also if we could get a powerful enough power supply we could someday have hover cars. Sounds crazy but if you charge a round plate of metal with a radious of 1ft. with 50kw of electricty it will indeed levitate. Think about it.

also i don't know where your going with this...
if we hadent founded a religion many controversial things would be legalized on the spot (gays, stem cells, etc)

wat u said about arrogance , is arrogance its self my friend for it insults millions of people. I don't agree with those people, but as for the question "where did God come from" ...we're as far from the answer as "When or What Started the Big Bang"

Hopefully the LHC will shape things up for us. Look forward to it.
I'd like to point out that religion wasn't founded. It was an immediate part of our creation. Now of course, religion back then is not the same as it is today. It's a shame that God doesn't talk to us like he used to, or does He and we don't pay enough attention?

And God is not a subject you can pull from one sorce like wiki. The closest you'll get to as one sorce is the bible and even that was created from multiple sorces generations apart.

The problem with most of you and a lot of people out there (please do not take this the wrong way as it is not my intent to insult.) is that they don't do the research with an open mind. People argue with the concept of them being completely right and thus make a discussion pointless. If you truly want to reseach something do so with an open mind and study the facts presented from both sides as I have.

And I'm going to say again, I was not insulting anyone.
