hey ive started a necro in 1.10 hes working ok, i dont pay much attention to my summons and curses.
Curses: i just pour points into amplify damage, becuase of this decision i would need to have a good weapon prefferably a one hand weapon so you will have room for a good head that you'll most likely find on you journeys, if not just use a shield like the ward gothic shield with resistances to all it is very helpfull. if you like using bone wands use weaken as your main curse, it will help your golem and your weak attack.
Poison skills: this is where weapon choice can come into play as well, becuase of poison dagger i would put points anywher between 5-10(thats if i use a dagger). it all deppends on what you find ). a good dagger is blackborgs sharp cinquedeas*,. now comes poison explosion a very good skill witch works throughout the whole game, this skill is one of the best in my opinion. now poison nova is pretty good to you should really put points into this. The trick is with poison dagger is have it on 10 than have poison nove on 10 as well this way they give each other strength and by using the blagborgs sharp youll have 15 poison dagger and 14 poison nova(very good)
Bone: this you might not like but its very helpful. having 5 points in bone wall,10 in bone spear and 10 in bone spirit is a very helpful combo. while your waiting for bone spear put points in bone wal so when you get bone spear youll have it real strong than pour points into bone spear until bone spirit, by level 40 itll be like having 25 points into bone spirit and spear and plus at early stages you can use a strong bone armour without having to put points into it

Summon: dont start speaking about skeletons they piss me off so just have a iron golem or fire golem. with iron golem it doesnt matter how much points you put into it just use it, it'll last the whole game and i dont use fire golem so you should contemplate over wich one yourself. so have a strong mastery and resist. example: 10 into golem of choice, mastery and resist
weapon: blackbogs sharp( if you use the dagger technique)
or a good one hand weapon like breath of the dying(rune word)
Armour: atmas wail
chains of honour(rune word)
Helm: find a real good circlet or whatever pleases you
