wow, i just wrote a long reply to this, and now i just realized i wasnt logged in. nice.
What items are you currently using. My single player legit sorc had the same problems. What are your stats/skills looking like ATM? try something like this:
str:100
dex:140+
vita:250+
ene:70-80
for skills, dont use orb. Orb is not going to get you anywhere in single, you need spells that pack on dmg. for cold, use this kind of a combo: max blizzard and and put about 10-15 into all its synergies. put 10-15 into cold mastery. after that, try for a hydra/meteor combo. if u can do all that, you will be a decient sorc for pvm. also remember to put 1 into static, tele, and about 5 into ene shield. dont bother with ts and all, its not worth the skills. for ts, you have to be a light sorc for it to do much good in pvm. but +5 into ene shield is really nice, it will absorb a lot more damage. next, get items with + skills. in single, my sorc was lucky enough to find an oculus on baal in nm, so i was set for hell. if u can get one of thoes, you will not regret taking the time to find it. for finding some good items, i suggest doing tons of mf runs, do it on rakinishu (in hell only, i found shako after like 40 runs) meph, shrenk, baal, diablo, andy, countess, pindle. do any major boss in hell or nm, but only do shrenk, countess, rakinishu in hell, otherwise you wont find crap. I have found some pretty good stuff like that. I say this because without at least 2-3 good items, you wont stand a chance against baal or diablo in hell. there is no way to beat baal without some good items plus a good build. my sorc has a VERY hard time beating baal in hell, it takes her like 20+ tries, and she has oculus, shako, and skins of vipermagi with +28 res for all her nice items. She is lvl 88 as well. also, for elemental mosters, try to get some absorb gear. absorb is killer against baal and diablo, if you get the right stuff. doing runs over and over again for the monsters i named above is great exp, and good for mf. but try to find alot of mf, and use an act 1 hell cold arrow merc. you put mf on her, and she will be godly. get her like a 4x p topaz armor, a p topaz helm, and get same for ur sorc and mf, you will find nice gear. also, sorcs use tele, so they can save their mercs, plus they will lvl fast too. also, my biggest suggestion, is look to deffinelty take a look at runewords. runewords are what helps the most, if you can get them for some armors, like wealth, and other stuff, (find good runes by doing countess runs, i found ber
then keep making good stuff. also, upgrade runes too with the cube if you find crappy ones. just slap mf on and do tons of runs in hell on just about every unique monster you can find, you will really start pumping out good stuff. so try this build for fire/cold

+5 warmth
