haha, go back to grade school Tich. And it's good to see that you couldn't take some time to check out that maybe some southerners mispronounce a word due to their accents. Or some Notherners might do the same thing. If you lived in NY and heard a New Yorker say instead of "coffee" , cawwwfeee, or how Brooklynites pronounce "Brooklyn" 
hudders" or how Long Islanders prounounce everything quirms: you wouldn't think twice about it. So I think you can definately attribute accents to why people might mispronounce. Because its easier.
