Original builds
#12
I've been thinking about a Ranger paladin (a pally using a bow to kill a foe - I rhymed!).

This is what I think one would/could look like. I'll try it out on single player later.

Skills:
20 - Fanatacism -or- Holy Shock/Fire/Freeze
20 - Resist Lightning/Fire/Cold if you choose the elemental route
...and the rest into whatever auras you like, or maybe a combat skill to bail you out if you get into trouble.

Stats:
Strength - Enough for gear
Dexterity - I'm thinking 150+
Vitality - The rest
Energy - None

Gear:
Bow - Widowmaker (I think that's the bow with +1-5 to Guided Arrow) ...no, a WF would not work
Helm - Andy's/Shako/CoA
Armor - CoH/Enigma/any cheap alternative that would work
Belt - Verdungo's/Nosferatu's Coil/Arachnid
Gloves - Laying of Hands/Lava Gout/Drac's
Boots - Aldur's/Waterwalks/Treks
Rings - Any combo of Bul-Khatho's/Raven Frost/SoJ
Ammy - Mara's/Seraph's/Cat's Eye/Atma's/Highlord's

Notes:
- This is obviously a fun PvM build which would probably suck in PvP.
- Laying of Hands provide 300% ED on Demons.
- Though the Widowmaker has Ignore Target's Defense and you'll mainly shoot Guided Arrow, Dexterity is necessary because you're using a bow. 1 dexterity = 1% ED with your bow.
- A WF would NOT work because it just shoots plain arrows that are not guided. With the Widowmaker, you have guided arrows.
- Most of the gear choices are whether you want more physical damage or elemental damage. Example: The Cat's Eye amulet would give you more physical damage with its hefty dexterity bonus, however the Mara's Kaleidascope amulet would give you more elemental damage with its +2 to all skills, upping your defensive aura skill levels, thus synergizing your Holy Shock/Fire/Freeze aura.

Sounds like fun to me. I know there are other alternatives to the Ranger, but I think this one would be fun for all you bored rich people, and it's the ideal setup in my eye.

I'll post when I try it in single player. Got to love Zonfire!

EDIT: If you have any suggestions for the remaining skill points, tell me and I'll try them.
