I don't play ladder, so I can't roll runes. (not any good ones anyways) I've had a LOT of ists, it's the way I've got most of my junk so far(trading), and I got them through hell rushes(forges) of course. I never considered my gear 'godly' but all of my characters have been able to rush themselves through hell (sometimes I call it 'walking hell' but that sounds slow, it didn't take that long at all) the only outside help is getting the wp to trav+meph in a3, because that act is a waste of my time haha.
I hate seeing hammerdins with crap gear..
Mine: perfect hoto, perfect maras, sojs, tgods, trangs gloves(some use magefist but I like the def instead of mana regen), Umed Zak, Umed Shako, 1298 def enigma, 1x high annihilus charm, and 4x Pally combat gcs. My boots are..dunno they don't matter much to me, I'm pretty sure they're Eth Sandstorms(240def) that repair 1 dur every 4 seconds.
12k dmg, huge defense, perfect resists, I can solo hell so easily it's not funny, and solo dclone like he's a piece of cake, and have 3 times. (my anni's had to come from somewhere) Hell rushes take around 15 mins a piece, you can get above 12k dmg, but why?!? People switch tgods for Arachs, but then those stupid Burning Souls actually can hurt you, and 12k is enough to take anything down really fast.
Note: Some people try to sit at the forge and screw you over, what I like to do is have an undone forge on a character, I tell my friend to go get the hammer from it and then we smash the orb, getting my chars forge, and wasting the scammer's if he's dumb enough to stay allied.
Ungh did I write all that? Uhoh I hope the flames aren't too terrible
