Ok, *nix and all BSD distros are for people who know computers. Stick with windows if email and web is all one does.
Second, x86 is the chip archetecture signifying the Intel or AMD chipsets. Sun's and Apple's computers have different chipsets and thus require different os's.
Third, Mandrake is just fine for servers if one recompiles the kernel for the streamlined architecture it needs. It was meant for home use, but so was windows.
