So you're basically depending on Thorns damage to kill your enemies? Spirit of Barbs is one of the worst skills in the entire game, far inferior to Iron Maiden or Thorns.

Another way (which is a lot better if you ask me) of doing something similar to this, is to go with a Necromancer. Max out all skeleton related skills, as well as Iron Maiden. Then get a Bramble, mainly for Thorns aura, but it also has got charges with Spirit of Barbs, should that be neccessary. Cheaper, and much, much better.
