Importing Downloaded Items and Using Zonfire Hero Editor
#1
Do a Google Search and Search for "Hero Editor" .90 (include the "Quotes") and click the 4th link from the top. Scroll down to the 7th downloadable item. Presuming you read this within 10 years, it should say "Zonfire Full Editor V.90" Download this.

Then download the items you want from this website. Run Hero Editor from the start menu/shortcut.
Click OPEN. Double Click your character's name. Go to the Inventory Tab along the bottom of the editor window (Above where you clicked "OPEN"). Right Click on an open spot in equip slots or in inventory with enough space to hold the item, it will place the Top left corner of the item over your moused position. Choose the "Import Item From File" option. Find the Item you Downloaded. Double Click the item you downloaded. The Import Item window will close and following a very fast version/corruption scan the item will appear in your pack.

If you imported the wrong item, or wish to delete the irem from your pack, press the delete key while over the item, or right clikc the item and select delete.

BE WARNED. Zonfire's editor is a very advanced editor, take some time getting used to the advanced functions it provides. Use another person's items as reference for when you finally decide to discover the innerworkings of the item editor. BEcause you're new to the editor I will explain the basics.

******Bottom Toolbar - Basic tools that start any and all projects. The buttons in order from left to right (I use .80 so if there are descrepencies read Zonfire's included readme) -

Open - Most common way to start a project. Opens the Diablo II save directory an allows you to load a saved game to edit it.

Save - Only way to end a project. PRessing this button will save your character over your old save. You can also set up the editor to automatically backup files. More on that later.

Reload - For use when editing, playing a character, then reediting without losing item positions or level/stat/skill changes. PRess this to update the loaded fil to the current settings of the specified loaded file. Use the Open function to set the fil to be reloaded. Reloading when there is no active file can cause a runtime error.

Extras - Opens the Extras Window, Wherein Hex editing, Item Editing, Item/Character Creation, and Character Hexing may be found. More on this menu later.

Close - CLoses Zonfire and the currently opened character. Will probably Prompt to save if you dont before closing.

------------

*****Character Toolbar - Covers editing ares for each individual Cahracter. These cannot be accessed without openenig a character. Pressing a tab without an open character will prompt you to open one.

Splash - A Pretty Picture
Stats - Stength Dexterity Vitality Energy Life Mana Fatigue Experience Current Act Hadcore/Softcore and wether or not you're dead can be edited here.
Inventory - Edits your character's Pack. SIDE TABS - Person Stash Cube Mercenary/Belt - Refer to other areas of inventory you can edit.
Waypoints - Edits active Waypoints. Click the name of an act to check/uncheck specific waypints (IE Halls of Vaught to do Pindle Runs)
Skills - Edits the specific levels of each skill. Click the skill's picture and then move the slider alon the bottom to change level. Enter an Integer 0-99 in the 'Set Skills' box to set every skill to that level. MAximum skill level is 99.
Quests - Has batch functions that refer to every quest from every act from every difficulty, from normal - Den of Evil, to Hell - Eve of Destruction.
Mercenary - Edits your mercenary, Stats are read only.
Introductions - Edits what NPC's you've introduced yourself to.
Options - Openable without loaded character. Modifies Editor Options. More about here later.
Info - Openable without loaded character. Basics and other information about the editor.
About - Version information, Editor maker, And another Splash.

----------

******The Extras Window - The most important window. Edits and Creates your items and for those of us who are experts, allows for Hex Editing.

Character Hex - Hexes your cahracter. Changes ARE NOT BUFFERED so if you mess up... POOF its all over. Be sure to use the bakup function if you do this. More on the backup function later.
Item Binary Edit/Compare (Item HEX) - Edits and compares item binary codes. Wrongful cahnges here will simply give you a "Bad Inventory Data" Erroe message. Delete the item if you mess up.
Item Edit - The Graphics-User interface version of the "Item Hex" tab. When editing an item, don't forget to press "Save Item" before you move off that item and on to another.
Item Character Create - NAvigates like Windows Explorer. Click 'Save Item to Picked UP' to place it in your inventory/ edit the item. Click the tabs on the far right to make new characters. The cahracter's made this way have the default stats of an amazon, so be warned.

------------

Options -

Option 1 - I dont know what this is for leave it alone.
Option 2 - Use Normal Response.
Option 3 - Personal Prefernce (do you want picked up items to stay in your save?)
Option 4 - Enables/Disable Drag and drop socketing.
Option 5 - If you have XP leave it if you dont, it doesn't matter really.
Option 6- Allow all editing/Don't Alow cahnges to items/Disable All editng (Only Viewing of items)
Option 7 - LEave this Alone
Option 8 - DEFINATELY LEAVE THIS ALONE
Option 9 - Leave it on if you want to keep socketed items while exporting.
Option 10 - Leave this on to backup characters, turn it off to not backup cahracters. If my Character is called guy, my backup file in the save folder would look like "GuyDDHHMM.Bak" DD is day, HH is hours, MM is minutes. Change the file to look like "Guy.D2S" if you want to replace your current save file.
Option 11 - Keep it ON
Option 12 - Keep it ON
Option 13 - Keep it ON if you want to see set attributes, off if you want to avoid certain overflow erroes (caused when nearly every attribute is on an item in some way/shape/form)

--------

And There you have it, A Full Tutorial on how to import items as well as a basic use tutorial of Zonfire. Go Have a Ball.
