well, for games, keep in mind u need a good video card
Im gonna list a few specifications u would need for a good every-day life computer that would last for at least 5 years
2gigahertz (GHz) or More CPU, preferably pentium 4 (since this is for all-use)
1gigabyte (GB) of DDR (or DDR2 if u can afford it) of RAM
GeForce 6800GT video card (around 150$, but well worth it)
80gigabyte hard drive
DVD +/- writter/reader (dvd drives read cds too fyi)
mouse keyboard, windows xp (if u wait a few months, u might be able to buy a computer with windows vista)
some memory card readers (i.e. flash, sd)
NForce 4 motherboard
well something around that should do. Since ur not very 'techy' u can always go to a computer store (NOT BEST BUY, NOT FUTURE SHOP, NOT WALMART, THEY ALL SUCK ASS) and ask them u want a computer like that, see how much it costs and if they have anything like that (to make sure everything is compatible, its best if u dont build it urself)
also u might need a screen
