if your going to seriously put money on it you should check what you can handle first. as for videocards theres some good choices out there..
I use a few types since theres like 17 computers in the house and 8 labtops. (started a small computer business for a short time and people dropped off ones they gave up on here...was easy to rebuild). Only reason Radeon has been on recall cause they tried a new hardware setup for it to do dual style gddr2 with hyperthreading but they failed. Geforce didnt bother cause they knew the risk lol.
for dells, i've found radeon series worked better. preferable the X series such as the X1300 and X1600. The newer geforce ones i didnt like except for the 1GB one cause they built it extremely similar to the Radeon X1600 series hardware wise but kept the geforce software.
if our a fan of GeForce, i'd suggest the 1GB gddr2 if your computer will handle it but it costs quite a bit......the 6800 GS works pretty good..but its like 250 in total online. the 6200 works just as good if your not temperature sensitive like i am. i get picky about temps so i went with one with a bigger fan tho i replaced it anyways...heh.confused:. oh. the 6800 and the 6200 are both 512MB. Just the 6200 is DDR and the 6800 is GDDR3. if its for a cheaper upgrade the 6200 will do well. it only costs about 83 (with S&H). i
