@kurups:
Why Diablo? Jesus, after starting WoW, I will never ever go back to Diablo.
@KazeCloud:
WoW is definately a step up from Diablo 2 in pretty much every single aspect. Most of the shit that you saw being wrong in Diablo have been fixed in WoW (like not having to create a new character every time you want to change some skills). However, WoW is a lot more social game and emphasis has been taken off solo play, most of endgame is instances (5man parties) and raids (10man and 25man). However, groups are easy to find and make. If you start playing, I'd recommend you to start on a high / full population server, I used to play on low pop and it seriously sucked. Also, PvP is way more fun and rewarding than it was in Diablo.
As in which character to play, it's entirely up to you (I play druid of course). Unlike in Diablo, every character and spec has their use and viability in endgame. Skill trees from Diablo are talent trees in WoW, for example, Warrior has 3 trees, Arms (PvP), Fury (PvE damage), Protection (Tanking).
Whatever you do, do not roll female human mage (since all the noobs seem to roll just that for some reason). I'd recommend a Shaman, you cannot go wrong with those. If I hadn't made a Druid, I wish I had made a Shaman.
