Effects extraction. Smile It's easy with a monochromatic background, all you have to do is delete the color that the background is on one layer, and then cut out the opaque parts of the render on another, then merge them together. And yes, the pen tool. I like GIMP's pen tool a lot more than Photoshops, so that's where I do cuts. And I'm better with extracting effects on GIMP, also.
