Here's what you gotta do. You probably have a good idea on the whole story, beginning to end, so here you go:
Write a semi-detailed outline of the whole story. Include everything you don't want to forget to put in, the small details that you want to stand out, the lines you want to be significant, etc. Then, work at it in pieces. Do the important scenes first, whether they're in the beginning of the story or the end. Get them finished up. Every writer changes things as they go, so don't worry if it's not perfect. After you get that done, start bridging the gaps between the important scenes. That way the story kind of writes itself and you can go back as well as forward editting things to make more sense and you won't really have to worry about running into snags in the plotline.
