Right Click Icon -> Run as Administrator.
Runetime Errors are problems within the program its self. Normal a corruptted dll file in your system32 folder. Reinstall should fix this problem, and also run Reg Cleaner after u uninstall or delete the Diablo 2 Directory. This will get all the reg inters out so you can install fresh.

Type "msconfig"
Select Startup Tab
Uncheck

Remember when your system boots back up. You will get a dialog box saying you just ran msconfig. Uncheck the little bow and click ok, but if you dont the next time you reboot it will come up again.
