After a long break, I started playing Starcraft again. The bad news are that since I last moved, by cd-keys got lost, so at the moment, I am just playing over Hamachi with my friends.
From what I gather from many threads is that battle.net is INFESTED with hacks, and I am really not interested in playing against hackers... Is it worth buying a new key so that I can play on bnet or should I just keep playing with friends over a smaller network.

I've personally never played against a hacker, mainly because I'm an inner-clan kind of guy... But Starcraft is a great game, so you probably should buy a new key.

starcraft probrably isn't the thing that is having hacks on b.net, it's other games, hell I don't know i don't play anything but SC and CS and d2 like once a week for 10 mins. but i've never played a hacker, and i've been playing since 5th grade.

I haven't played s/c in a long time too but last time i played this guy had a mineral hack. but thats about it.. I never got good at it.. I was better at warcraft.

Personally I've played Starcraft and Starcraft: Brood War for about 4 Years, and I've never encountered a Hacker. It's rare to find one [Or it may just be my luck].

it's just not worth it to hack. without levels and equipment like in diablo, the only thing that remains for entertainment is the actual playing. also, nobody respects a hacker on starcraft because everyone knows that the only way to be leet is through ingenius strategy that cant be emulated with hacking

I've seen a few. Not a big deal. But I have to admit, people backstabbing and cannon rushing still pisses me off. It's so lame.

Oh, just spoke to a friend of mine who quit SC ages ago, and he gave me his SC cd-key... He couldn't find BW though, so I might as well go and buy that.

I really don't like Warcraft... It's boring compared to Starcraft blank:.
