u ppl have a need for speed. i only have 128
 but its still OKbut it sucks whenever i play wc3 cause my load screen takes FOREVER and when it's done, there's a mass of messages on the screen that say D and its gay and ppl call me gay cause my comp is slow :devilish:

I have Toshiba satellite with 2.8 ghz 800mhz fsb 512 ram etc etc, and I wanted to purchase more ram, if anyone would happen to know...
I have 2 256 2700 --333mhz-- chips in it right now, and it will take up to 2 1gb chips. My question is, can I get higher mhz ram like the 400 and if so would it even make a difference? I can buy 1gb 2700 mhz ram for my system at a local shop for $320, then I would just run the 1gb and 1 of the 256s until I could affor another 1gb chip. What determines the ram mhz limitations?

Your motherboard determines what the max RAM speed is your computer an handle. If you upgraded the RAM to a 1gb stick you might see a difference in load times and what not but not a really big difference. The only parts that really make the most notable differences are the CPU and Video Card.

Yeah thats the bummer.... I have the Nvidia GeForce GOFX 5200 -64mb RAM- I would like to upgrade the card and memory, then I'd be fine, can't touch the card though. It does alright though, was the highest end stuff a year or so when I bought it. I may have to just build me a desktop for Doom3 etc. Thanks

I would be surprised if anyone here only had 64 RAM, I'd bet that like... 2 or 3 web pages would use all that up. =o

proc equals processor .. and i have 1.5 gb of ram.. need to get more.. my motherboard can hold 3 gigs
