Well, new to the community, I suppose. First off, let me say that this IS diablo related, and this is my "introduction" to the community, I suppose.

I've played Diablo on and off for two years or so. I played ladder season one sinse the day it started, and I got pretty good. Ladder reset, I slacked off. Made a nice MF sorc, then quit. All my characters expired.

That being said, i'm bored, midterms in my school are OVER, finally.. my life is somewhat straightened out, and i'm single again!

So, this will probably be the biggest mistake i've ever made in my life, but i'm going to install D2! Again! Two more years to flush down the toilet to an addiction on a fantasy world i'll never experience.

Now, being a ****** and i'm lonley, cause like I said, i'm single(LOL) who wants to be my friend?! I'm thinking either East or West, either one is fine. I hear west is the "real" gateway now 'a days, so i'm looking towards that one. I'm also looking to get rich quick, somewhat legit. Ladder, being the competetion headquarters, I figure would be harder to do so. Is my figuring full of shit? Which gateway/ladder/NL would be fastest? I am in no way bumming items or whatever, but I'm just asking a simple question. Where could a stone broke 'vet go and become somewhat successful on a moderate(1-2 hours a day) gaming schedule in a few months?

Also, what char build would be most efficient? I know Hammerdins were very popular in Ladder #1, as they were the famed 'cookie cutter' build of .10, but what's hot now? I don't really care for a MF sorcer, as I won't be MFing much, so a boss build that can handle somewhat "anything" would be prefered. That and something that can be successful on a VERY shitty basis. Alas, no gear. None worth admitting too, anyways.

And finally, once I deceide what character to build and where to do it at, who would be willing to be my friend? Anyone? Noone? Everyone knows(I guess, I do anyways) Diablo is pretty boring when you only play with yourself(can be applied to life, too lol). I'm not trying to bum items or look for someone who would provide free rushes or any of that. Just someone to chat with.. Mabye develop an e-friendship. I don't know, just have fun!

First of all, I recomend (and this is from VERY much my own personal experience) DO NOT start playing D2 again. It will ruin your life. Just wait a week, mourne you;re losses, and find someone else. Trust me, it's way more worth it in the end.

That being said, if you want to play competitively, then play on West. If you want to play with people from this forum, then play on East.

play with people on this forum, cause then u can join a clan and get stuff from all the people here. Most of us are really nice, and we'd be perfectly happy to help u out in any way we can. So east would be the choice i think u should make, but its really up to you. Im taj_nar2 on NL and taj_nar4 on ladder and check out the clan here if ur really interested

Hah, I know it's an addiction. However, I'm not playing because my girlfriend left me. We dated for two years and got absolutely friggin' sick of each other.. that and she tasted horrid. That's another damned story all together, though! (Kidding, Court.. on the off chance you read this :devilish: )

I'm playing again because me and my friend deceided it would be a good way to burn time. We are both *recovering* addicts, but this forum isn't the best of places to share those types of problems, i'm sure.

I think I will start USWest eventually, not sure when.

That's scary because the reference I made ealier about my past experience was named Courtney as well. She was the reason I got readdicted after we broke up. It's like my rebound girlfriend was a computer game.

As for your question of which character, I would go with a Hammerdin for killing bosses and such. Easiest build in my mind for lack of good equipment. Get lucky and find someone who has Guardian angel and couple other decent items and your set. MF sorc really depend on whether or not you have asome good equip also. If your looking for something new in gaming just give it sometime and GUILDWARS will b here b4 u know it. Just in case you go the west I'm on like 10 different accts, but you can generally get me on jim.ford1 or jim.ford5 or dm-jim.ford, I usually have 3 games going at once so b a lil patient if I don't see you right away or I may b botting also.
