Removing Reps

Reputation points gone to shit now everyone has 2 bars (well almost) yet they don't deserve it like me, god after the rep point thread people been packing 3-4 bars it would be nice if you removed them from the website .

I don't have 2 bars...but i guess i know what you mean, you can just look at the # of posts, and that can pretty much tell you if they're trustworthy, but i still like them. The only thing i don't like, is that even if soeone bad reps another, you can't see it, they should show # of bad reps too

Reps have been ****ed up ever since people were like here you give me rep i give you for the next year. I dont return the reps that are useless. I only rep if it is worth a rep. At least theres a few of us like me that actually follow the intended rep usage.

I like the rep stuff, i personally think there kinda fun and add something little to the forums regardless of how people spread them around, IMO.

its a forum and at the end of the day i dont care about a couple of pixels. but its nice to know i helped, but i dont get jealous of people, coz thats just pointless

I was actually considering resetting rep for everyone. All those people giving rep to each other for no reason ruined the intended use.

Getting rid of it all together would be best. It has turned into nothing more than a popularity contest. They mean nothing.

That's a good point, it's kind of usless, think should remove anything todo with reps at sigs and give them a bad rep point if they do it

I hate sigs that say "give me rep i give you rep" "give me rep if i helped" "make me a sig for rep". There is no point to it in my eyes.

Well guys, I've e-mailed Spitfire and asked him to reset the reputation system. If anyone has some stupid sig saying you give rep if you get rep, remove it now. I'm considering making a usergroup promotion. You won't be able to give good OR bad rep unless you've been here for at least 90 days or are a mod, OR if you have 250+ good rep. We'll see what happens.

But what about, like, A|fzZz and N u b l i ? who had, like, 5.4 trillion rep points? i'd be a bit miffed to lose all hundreds of them.

...as it is, i don't mine losing my 9.

Same, rep should be based off of the post count you have. I guess that would make people spam more though.

B.) if you've done it once, you can do it again, i have faith in you
C.) If people spam more, that just means the mods can ban more, and that's ALWAYS a good time. ^_^
