Installing harddrive

My dad just bought a new computer, same as this one[same specs] and I need to transfer HD and CD-Rom from old computer into the new one, CD-Rom I can do fine, and as far as I know the HD is plugged in fine, but when I turn on the computer I get blank screen. Is the HD plugged in maybe screen crapped out? Screens ays not plugged in, but it is, so maybe HD not in right?

I have blue connector plugged into the blue slot on the motherboard like it says, and I have the IDE cable plugged into the HD with red strip facing out, and the power supply is plugged into it aswell... and ideas?

You might have the ribbon cable plugged in wrong, make sure you're using the plug right after the one in the mainboard, and make sure the jumper on the HDD is set to "MASTER".

With two hd's one has to be set to master and the other to slave. Make sure the jumpers are in place correctly. Also the newer IDE cable's are idiot proof.
