svchost.exe?
#1
I was looking for processes that take up alot of ram, and I discovered 7 instances of svchost.exe running. I'm asking for someone to explain what these are, and if it is necessary to run all of these at the same time instead of just one of them.

You need that program to be running I think.

For information reguarding what exactly that process does here is a nice little explination.

It handles the executing of DLL's on your computer. Seeing how DLL's are an intergeral part of most any system it would be UNWISE to end that process.
