Buy veteran status?
#1
Ok, I was thinking you could BUY veteran status in the uShop as long as you had positive rep, 600 posts, and 5 months in forums. Or however much you'd want it to be. And if you don't have that shit you can't see it. And it cost like 10k points or something. =\

Nah, Don't think that's a good idea, just takes away the whole point of getting the status, from helping out in the forms, you shouldn't be able to buy your way in.

I think that shows that youve been helping out....

I just don't think it should be allowed to be boought, all of the people who are vets now earned it, haven't they?

There's like 3...

Wow people are just itching to start handing out rep point again aren't they? Everyone with 1k+ posts or close to it wants to be "given" vet status or be able to buy it with their incredible stockade of points. The limiting of people who can give out rep has caused more problems, or as many, as when points were capped.

BTW I dont have vet status and I'm a mod so dont think I'm against you becaue of that.

Ok, so you're saying that just because I want veteran status I'm going to just rep every single person I see? I'll have you know that the only time I ever rep'd people was when I did trades with them. =\

Exactly. Rep is for when people have been a help around the forums not when they make an agreeable trade with you.

Ok, let's say if you buy a veteran status from uShop you can't give rep but you'd be able to delete posts. =\
#10
What if it was a trade for an anni? They should get rep for actually doing the trade.
#11
That's actually the kinda trades I rep'd for. Like when I had the item I was trading on another char but I want the item I'm getting on a different char.

Oh, and seeings on how you woudn't be able to rep, how about the ability to buy the power to delete your own posts?

thad B kool X-ept u can change custom title to vet
#13
There is absolutely no way this is going to happen. All it would take is 1 idiot that's been here for a while to ruin everything. We've all dealt with all kinds of BS when the system was reset, especially me since everyone was out for my blood. I'm not willing to go through that again.
#14
Ahh, that's no fun. =\

buying vet status is very bad. anyone who posted a lot could transfer their pts to a new account, get rep power, start neg repping everyone even though a mod would eventually find out. still a bad idea
#17
I believe that the way it is now is perfectly fine. It's Moderators, Super-Moderators and Admins can give rep (I believe). They will give rep to who they see fit, and it is better that way. That way whenever you become Veteran you've earned it.
#18
its exactly what 3keyz just said...you have to earn it. Its really not that hard if you help out. Since chesh has already said that its not going to happen the discussion is over.
