Spoon's RP Story
#1
For those of you that don't know, RP = Role Play.

This story was written about a character I role play as on Neverwinter Nights. His name is Vero Rogers (For you D&D fans Lvl 23 Monk, 2 Fighter, and 5 Shadowdancer). Mainly he is a Monk by his traits as far as combat and physical appearance go. This means he fights with his fists, not some pansy kama Monk, and wears normal clothin instead of armor so he can move more freely and dodge easily. Also having over 20 levels of monk the character's eyes glow because of the clarity and wisdom monks of high training have. The eyes also glow blue because he is neutral allignment.

As for Livana, she is the queen of the land he lives in, Kissmet, and he is her personal guard.

And before you start laughing...yes I role play online in games. Tried it in D2 and it really sucked.

I wrote this while I was acting it out in the game also it was around 11:30 - midnight while I was actually writing it so please point out errors. But any lack of detail or poor word usage was just fatigue settling in.

Also one last note, the scene of him after he gets back to the city all really did happen in the game. He was ignored and I was pretty pissed about that :mad:

A Near Death Experience

Late into the night he stormed through the city gates and out into the forests of Kissmet. A black hood slung up over his head shadowing his features, only the strong glow of blue light from his eyes...the eyes of a monk. Shrouded in his black garb his eyes glows fiercly for this night the monk enters the forests for more than just to hunt, but to protect. He runs swiftly through the trees and bushes, his movements a blur to any that would see him run by.As he ran he would pause for a moment as if searching for something, looking about carefully trying to find some sign.

He shot past a large tree, not noticing a root partially exposed above the ground, tripping and falling to the ground. He skid a few feet across the dirt flat on his face. He quickly lifted himself up with his palms down in the dirt, shaking his head to regain his senses, "You've got to focus," he whispered softly to himself, "you wont find her like this." After taking a deep breath he leaped back to his feet and takes a quick glance at his surroundings. He finds no sign of 'her'.

He bagan to move to take off again before coming to a dead hault at the sound of foot steps behind him. Quickly he spun on his heel to face whatever had come across him. In a moment he found himself face to face with a large, and very angry, gnoll. Panick suddenly began to rush into the monk's head almost overwhelming him before he could shake off the feeling.

His senses returned and his thoughts calmed. Before he had a chance he could hear more foot steps and low snarls in every direction, he didn't need to look to know this beast didn't travel alone. Considering the snarls and the fierce lookin the beasts eyes he knew immeadiately this was not a 'friendly' encounter.

The monk took a deep breath and at that same moment the gnoll's claw quickly flew above his head and just as quickly came back down. A quick and short leap back brought him out of harm's way for the moment, but the danger had only begun. Upon landing he tried to get an idea of how many of the beasts he faced, but the charged so quickly and seemingly from nowhere leaving him on alert of all sides of the small clearing he found himself in.

No place tight enough to keep them squeezing through in smaller groups...no way for him to escape. Quickly he flung his fist toward the first gnoll, hitting it square in the jaw and sending it sailing a few feet in the air before falling to the ground. "One.." He whispered through clenched teeth as a sword now shoot twoard his chest, easily dodge by quick pivot on his right heel. Before the one weilding the sword could pull his weapon back to prepare another strike the beast found the monk's knee at his chin as the monk leaped up raising the knee; causing the gnoll to flip in the air and land limply, face down, in the dirt. "Two.."

The monk landed firmly on his feet but was quickly met by two more attacks from the claws of the creatures. Both attacks very easily avoided with a quick duck and side step but as he cleared the advances he felt a sudden sharp pain at his back. A third creature had landed swift slice across the monk's back tearing the back of his shirt and cutting a small around across his shoulder blades. Instinctly he arched his back forward to avoid the blade cutting any deeper and rolled forward so he might have a chance to regain his hold on the battle.

Coming out of the roll he tried to get back on his feet but found himself knocked to the ground on his rear from a powerful blow to his ribs. He winced and grunted softly as he felt a snap in his chest. Hearing his apparant wounding the rest of the gnolls closed in faster, determined to finish the wounded monk. "Get a hold of yourself Vero.." He mumbled under his breath. As the gnoll standing before him moved in a bit slowly, confident of it's victory, Vero sent his fist soaring into the air landing on the side of the creature's face. A loud crack went into the night with blood flying from the side of the gnoll's head as it crashed into the Earth.

Quickly the pain of his cracked rib began sending shreaks through Vero's body as the rest of the gnolls came rushing in to avenge their fallen brothers. A few swift kicks and carefully executed dodge and in moments five more of the creatures dropped to the ground joining the other three. Still, even with eight defeated, there seemed to be countless more of them closing in around the lone monk. He closed his eyes for moment to get a grip on things but all he could see was 'her' face. With a loud yell he went charging straight into the middle of a group of them. He sent three more falling to the dirt before a claw laid into his chest. Quickly his left thigh and right armed became the next to become victim to the assault.

Before too long Vero felt another rib break, two swords sting his right leg and his left bicep, and then finally a swift slug to the back of his head sending him sprawling to the ground again. With his adrenaline flowing and his strength quickly leaving he did all he could do now...he ran for his life back toward the city.

After losing the gnolls his vision was consumed by darkness and once again he fell to ground, his face half in the dirt as his blood and life began to flow from his body. In the darkness all he could see was her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morning, the sun pierced through his eyelids like only life could. Vero lived, somehow, and even more could see the gates of Kissmet not far past the tress. He was almost home. He layed for a while, trying to center his strength, then began to pull himself up to his feet. Using a vine he finally stood, keeping his weight on his left leg, and began to limp slowly toward the city.
The gates, he suddenly felt a small burst of strength, not much but enough, as he crossed into the city. He hardly noticed it was raining, the pain of his wounds consuming all of his senses, and as the rain poured down it mixed with his blood leaving a red streak trailing behind him flowing into the gutters down to the sewers. The sewer vampires would appreciate that.
Slowly he made his way across the empty Suburbs and into the central area of the city. Moving past several people as his life poured out of him onto the gravel as he passed, not one made any move to help or acknowledge him. So he carried himself over towards the Fighter's District, home of the Watch. Surely the guards would aid him and find him medicine.
A small hin ran by giggling as he moved closer to the Watch headquarters, she didn't seem to notice him though. Finally, he stood in front of the door to his would-be saviors...and he collapsed. Not even two feet from the door he fell to the gravel. The rain poured down around him and despite his hood still over his head it began to splash his face as his eyes slowly dimmed and began to fade. Blackness consumed his sight again.
What happened in those moments of blackness he did not know. All he could remember were images of a woman, someone he knew. Livana, it was her, then blackness again. He could hear her speak and somehow he found himself drinking several fluids before she had disappeared from his sight and he drifted off in unconsciousness once more.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Life, Vero's eyes sprung open as he rolled to his side coughing up blood on the sheets of a bed in a small room somewhere. He could feel the blood in a small pool at the pit of his lungs now emptying through his mouth and out onto the sheet.

A soft touch, his eyes glance downward seeing a hand with a small rag wiping the blood from his lips. Her, she had saved him. How he did not know, but she saved him. It was the only thing he was truly sure of.

After a small exchange between Liv and himself Vero started off toward the castle to get to his room and rest a bit. As he exited the Crimson Moon Tavern, where she had apparantly carried him, he glanced toward the Watch headquarters to his left. He watched a few of the guards talking about a new recruit in their ranks and enjoying eachother's company while the stains of his torment still reddened the gravel beneath their feet. With a sigh he started off again. He needs his rest and he knows it.

Passing through the city toward the castle not a word is said to him nor a glance passed over him. His scares have healed by her touch, though his shirt hung in his hand tattered and ripped. Rest, now his only peace and his only concern.

Now please comments and all that jazz.
