Comcast - Whats the deal?
#1
Last week, my internet was acting funny. I could only connect to certain sites that were frequently visited. Others simply didn't "exist." I was later told by a friend that Comcast was having server troubles. That was fixed rather quickly.

Now the same symptoms are reoccuring. I'm not sure why it's doing this. I can't get a hold of http://www.comcast.net or http://www.comcast.com to see if they have something posted, so I'm dead in the water. Maybe I should just reformat this piece of junk.

I'm on aim/msn now, so feel free to talk to me there if you know anything.

It's not like Comcast to do this. I had 100% uptime (when certain problems were fixed out.) Only once did I ever wake up and find that the internet or cable TV wasn't working. This was fixed in 20 minutes.

Of course, I still can't view their site. Can someone else go to http://www.comcast.net or http://www.comcast.com and see if there are any news alerts?

I couldn't find anything on thier site about downtime. Sad

Update:

Strangely, I can connect to more sites with IE.

Does God hate me or what?

It could be a problem with your browser, I use firefox and it stopped me from using the internet even though i had a connection. I dont know if this helps, Because im on a completely different ISP living in england and all.

You are aware that your computer has little to nothing do with how good and/or bad your internet connection is right? You could have a $10,000 uber server but if you had dial up it still would not change your page load times or uplaod/download times one bit.

Well maybe if you had a faulty card it would help to get a new computer but even then it would be more economical to just replace the card then buy a whole new system.

Friend said it might be a DNS problem with Comcast. Ahh well. Even the greatest companies can't keep a 99% uptime record.
