Merc Question

I've got a question about A2 mercs. I've got a NM Defense merc but he never wants to use his aura. This has happened to me wtih insight as well on my other mercs, but all I had to do was re-equip it, but I can't do that with the holy freeze aura. Is there anything I can do to make them use their auras? A key to press perhaps? Or is my merc just going to be a jerk. =\

im not entirely sure but usually my merc turns on his aura when monsters are around

My merc must be blind then, he rarely turns on his auras at all, even when we're surrounded by enemies.

usually after he seems to get a few good hits in, or kills a monster then he turns his aura on. sometimes i just go to the baal wp and he turns it on.
