A) First make a background and get a render or any other layer object in which you want to blend.

B) Now right click on your paint bucket tool and select gradient tool.
C) Now press Q.
D) Now drag the gradient along the signature until you get all the parts of the layer that you want in red.

E) Now press Q again and you'll see that anything that was not red, is now selected.

F) Now press delete and you'll see parts of the selected area fade away.
This is another really rough signautre that I got with the same method.
