Time for a tutorial from me. The topic? How to make an abstract siggy using only brushes, and one layer.
To start out, download this brush packet here:

Now, load the brushes into photoshop, and make a new document, 320x100. That's the size I'm going to be using, so neh.

Now, open the "ww-brushset 5" or something similar. Change color to black, 100% opacity. Now, just mess around on the background layer until you get a similar look as below.
NOTE: They will not look the same.

Okay, time to color it. Now, press ctrl+b to open Color Balance. Now, play with midtones, shadow, and highlights until you come up with a suitable color like below. Also, you can invert (ctrl+i) and see if you like that better.

Play with the levels until you get a sense of depth. (ctrl+L)
Also, you can sharpen (filter>sharpen>sharpen) to make it look more detailed.
Now, add text, and a border (ctrl+a ---> right click---> stroke, 1 px, black), and you have a basic abstract signature. Play around with blending layers, and color to expand on your skills.
