There Is To Many Old Threads
#1
Hi I am a new member of this websites Forums. I have seen almost all the Forums on this website:eek:. I suggest they be removed for visitors and members to download what they have came to download faster.
I do understand that most are still up for helping matters, but when you have 1,000 Posts in one Thread you are making it harder for the people with slow downloading process.

I think you are under the impression that this site is simply here for downloads. This site was created with the idea in mind of being a one stop place for Diablo 2 players and not just a site where people can download programs for Diablo 2.

If you have a slow internet connection I'm sorry but I think it is incredibly rude of you to come to this site and make one post in which you ask that all the forums be removed so people like your self with slow internet connections can download faster.

On the point of download times please note that the speed at which you download a program or load a website has more to do with the speed of YOUR connection and less to do with the actual site. Given that a site with low bandwidth and transfer speeds can drastically affect even someone with a fast internet connection that is not the case here. The problem is you have a slow internet connection nothing more. Spit could delete everything from this site but the downloads and you would still only download at 3kb/s or whatever your connection speed is.

Your friendly neighborhood sinner.

I don't have a Dial-Up Connection I have a High-Speed Internet Connection of 256k. Also I have a few friends that do have Dial-Up and I am dreadfully tired of downloading what they want and waisting valuable disc's that I could use for more useful matters. But to get to the point of my suggestion, when you have over 60 or even 100 of people here posting and downloading the speed of your websites speed decreases slightly and I know that this site has good staff members working to make there customers happy for they have made me happy for many years, but just think it over and make the suggestion your self for I don't have the time to make posts of a simple problem that can easily be solved.

The d2s site can handle many many times visitor load it currently has. For example right now Apache is serving out @ 79.4 kB/second which is i guess the "idle" speed lately if you wish... out of a possible constant 100mbs. Sure it peaks when alot of people are downloading at the same time... Also the cpu is only at .464% load. So how you think that action needs to be taken to speed the site up when its already just idling away nicely at optimum speed please let me know :p

Then thats your problem. Not ours. Don't come here and ***** about how you have to download things for your friends and burn them onto disks.

All I hear is "boohoo boohoo b!tch b!tch whine whine". Your "points" are dull if not null and I find that you are wasting alot of peoples time. If you dislike the current state of affairs or think that the staff here is doing a **** poor job of optimizing the speed of this site feel free to leave, it will increase the speed for everyone else and thats what you want anyways.

Snyder, are you an idiot or something? This site is primarily forums, not downloads. The downloads are kinda a side deal. The forums will not be gotten rid of, and your cheap *** friends need to get high speed or you need to get a backbone and tell them that they need to buy their own blanks. Let me tell you in a more convincing way, however.

THIS SITE IS NOT FOR DOWNLOADS PRIMARILY, YOU DOUCHE, GO FIND ONE THAT IS, WE AREN'T CHANGING ANYTHING

... Valuable discs? It's like 20 cents for one disc, dude. Also, getting rid of stuff on the server wouldn't make it run faster. That's like saying that if you delete shit off your hard drive your computer runs faster. It's a client side problem of theirs being that they're on 56k that makes them DL slow. Not a server side problem.
