If you are talking about your name on the online list its due to you setting yourself as invisible to other users (except for admins and the like)

Am I an admin? Because I see * by names all the time. When someone's "online" via invisible mode, it says, for example "Veck is Invisible"

However, when they're offline, it would say "Veck is Offline"
