What's with the hero editor?

Every character I open it gives me errors. When I try to create an item, it gives me errors too. And the best part is when I run the game, any character that I have saved with the editor won't even show up on the player select menu.

Can anyone please tell me what's going on?

I am using version 0.80 and yes I am running D2 1.10.

I am not running any mod and what system files are you talking about?

i also had this problem, i reinstalled it and it worked though so who knows? you also might wanna switch the option for error reporting and response to ignore most errors

Great now my game's acting all weird. The screen would black out for a while and returns to the desktop when I try to run the game.

Somebody help me please...

What sort of error messages are you getting?

Hero Editor usually requires that you are using an English version of Windows. Make sure that you set the "regional and language settings" to English. In particular, make sure your computer is set for single byte letters, NOT multiple byte letters. (NOTE: I have never had this problem, but others tell me this solved the problem for them.)

To make sure that you are using V1.10 character files, start a D2 V1.10 game, and then open and save all characters that you have. This will convert all of your characters to V1.10 format, including the items. I don't expect you should get any errors from Hero Editor V0.80 after you have done this, unless the problem noted above is the cause.
