X800 Pro or XT?
#1
What card should I get? I know the XT All-in-wonder is gonna get capped with the CPU im getting (AMD 3200+). So it's between the XT and the Pro. I was planing on play all the high end games, HL2, BF-2, CS, with high-max settings. Any help would be just swell, hahaha i had to put that in.

That how the cards today stack up when it comes to BF2. To get max max max on BF 2 you will need 2x 7800's. But seeing how your getting one card the X850 XT PE is the best choice.

no no not a x850 thats outta my price range right now. Im guessing imma go with the x800 pro, dunno yet. waitin for spit to read this lol.

XT is 16 pipeline and the Pro is 12. So go with XT or XL.

With a Pro your not going to get the performance that you want. A pro just ain't going to cut in BF2 even if you OC it the 4 less pipelines is going to keep you down. You can wait for Spit but I'm telling you that you either have to pony up more dough or take a down grade in performance.

But hay...what do I know...spit runs a forum after all. Me...I just delete posts.

It's nothing to do with status sinner, i just wanted his experience answer, i can understand the pipelines completely, it was more of a price issue. I guess im going to go with the xt, not the 850 but the x800 xt all-in-wonder. im going to have to buy the vid card first then the rest.

-EDIT-
Didn't notice the price difference between the X800 XT all-in-wonder to the X850 XT -OEM <- Sad guessing imma go with the OEM x850 xt

Well, turns out, my price has gone up again lol, my friend told me since im spending this much i should go for a dual vid card rig, with a NVIDIA NForce4 SLI mobo, but this is new to me. so any tips or pointers would really help. Im prolly gonna spend around a grand

What do you currently have in the way of computer parts? That will help me greatly in helping you. Because I can suggest great upgrades for a grand just for video cards but if you do not have the proper hardware to support them you might as well of used the money as toliet paper.

DVD+CD-R/W
Speakers
Sound Card
CPU
vid card
mobo
note: decided to go with a single card.

OKAY IVE GOT IT!!!
Case
RAM
MOBO
CPU
Sound card

Vid card
Total without shipping and tax: 1069.94

I really don't like that case... maybe it'd look better if all the LED's were blue.
#13
I could be mistaken but that sound card does not have its own processor. You do realise that means that your CPU will be doing all the processing for it right?

Just thought you should know.

you know, i don't think you would see much difference between all those high-end vid cards... just a matter of which software you want that comes with the package and the price
