Magic: the Gathering

Wow, lucky! I wasn't playing during the really early sets, I remember I started during the Odessy block, I really don't like the newer cards.

That blue artifact deck sounds nasty, I am thinking of making a Tinker style deck for tournaments, or finish off my slivers. =p

How did it get banned? cards got restricted and banned or the place you played at said "**** off, no way you are going to keep using that"

+ how do you make a multi coloured elf deck...that works???

way back in the early sets there were 5 dual non-pain lands, they are now like $30 a piece or something crazy like that and they are legal as well still too, but dont hold me to that as I have not played in a few years. elfs are really just there for incredible mana production while the gold cards are usually the game winners. It was a wierd deck but it worked and people always gwaked at the number of gold cards that were thrown down in a single game.

I mean seriously how often do you see a creature base of gold cards and elfs that actually wins a 1-1 match?

For fun me and a friend built a working chaos magic phase deck. A deck based on phasing and made to work in chaos magic games. The great thing is that phasing is the BEST skill for creatures in a chaos game...mainly because the deck itself is chaotic by nature.

I started playing in marqadian masks and i got my friends into it, i was out for about a year and now my back into it.

my newest and favorite deck has to be my white red deck, its alot of fun, 4 mana prizms, with 4 of the urza's lands (tower, power plant, and mine) so you get out a bunch of walls (white(flying) and red(damging walls)) untill u get out towers, mine and power plant, and fireball, disintigrate, and blaze the hell out of them.
I also like my elf deck but my friends wont play against it

and ytf did they change the format of the cards the new ones look like shit!

I used to play.

I had a squirrel prison deck. It basically used opposition and deranged hermit to lock out my opponent from doing anything. I used to win 100 person tourneys with it, in type II.

I haven't played in a couple of years though.

Deranged Hermit and Opposition are both type I...

I can see how a squirrel deck would win a 100 person tourny, I want to make one of the earthcraft/squirrel nest combo decks now that Earthcraft isn't restricted. Just throw in a Kahmal, Fist of Krosa or something, maybe not and just use a Squirrel mob, not sure how slow of fast those decks are.

Sinner, I need some of those dual lands, the card shop I go to sells the beat up ones for 30, perf ones for go 45 at least!

I love your idea of the gold card elf decks, I will stick with my Tribal Forcemage strategy though...

No can do my friend. That would require hunting down one friend in Iraq and the other in New York becoming a torts attorney. So I could get they're permission. The money was pooled along with cards so I dont have full rights to the cards.

BTW pooling money and cards is the best way to get awesome tourny worthy decks. Dont get to many people becuase then it could become problematic but about 3-4 trustworthy friends goes a long way in MTG.

Hey, is green stompy stompy still viable or do elf's rule green? I loved playing green stompy right around tempest. I also hated well made smoke stack decks. Those things may have been unreliable but when they worked it was hard to keep even one land and a creature in play. That was one artifact that was way overlooked and way overpowered.

P.S. Make sure at LEAST one of the people is card value savy and knows how to barter.

Ive played magic for a while...but i usually only play with my 3 other friend..i wish i could go to a tourny or something..i make a lot of..odd decks..since i play four-ways you need to be able to beat every one...i dont buy cards any more...but i like to make decks and play..i made a few yesterday cus i played w/ my friends today. like Chimeric coils+Heartbeat of the sprin with fangren pathcuter or trample horns...and i have a wall deck that can pretty much stop a game to a crawl while i gain a lot of life...but one of my favorite decks is one that would use Shifting sky then Wrath of marit lage, stop the game dead for every one and then use creatures like Yavimaya Barbarian and Goblin War Wagon to attack them when there creatures are frozen.

Green stompy still works, bye stompy you mean large creatures powered up to be huge? Termonology ranges from location. My friend plays a kind of deck that he gets a couple of lanawar elves out, an Elvish Piper, and a few mana search sorceries, pretty soon he plays thorn elemental (with the piper) gives it Blanchwood Armour, and haste (i forget how he gives it haste)+Nantuko Mentour, he hits me for about 40 damage every time, he uses Defence of the Heart to retrieve it and some other stuff that kicks my ***.

I normally beat him if the game lasts less than 6 turns, I think he has beaten my elf deck once.

And to answer your question Green has changed quite a bit, it used to be all stompy, but now it is either elf/powerup/or some qeird strategy (like the enchantress I described earler)
