I am having problems with my D2X plz help?

Hey guys! hey i have a problem with my d2 it doesnt want to log on. I press the Battle.net icon and it stays in "Connecting to the fastest server" and then it says i need to connect to the internet first (while i am) and i try to reconnect and i have the same problem. Can someone help me out here? i am beginning to grow desperate about this.
