modded drivers

For my laptop I cannot install the "normal" catalyst(sp?) drivers, since it is a mobile video card(Radeon).

I was wondering do you guys use Omega Drivers or some other modded driver set? I use the Omegas and they work great, just wondering how many others use the modded as well...

Did you try to intsall the regular catalyst? I have put that on several laptops without problems. I double checked the site, they dont make a seperate driver.

Yea I did they always tell me that they are not compatible with mobile video cards and to check with my manufacturer for driver releases. Well they never have and Doom 3 and many newer games would ALWAYS crash on the ones I had because they were so old.

The omegas work fine though I have never had a problem with them, so there is something in them that allows me to install that the regulars cats don't.

ATI was doing good things for a while, I have a 9800 that I'm pretty happy with but lately I'm not challenging it much with D2. It does smoke on Doom 3 with my OC'ed 64 however. But I have have a lot less problems with drivers on Nvidia cards and that new GeForce 7800 makes me want to go back to them... course the $550 will stopp that thought. I have never tried the omega driver but I'll have to check that out too.
