Hey everyone, I ran across this section of the forum and after reading the stickied "Programming FAQ" thread it sparked my interest to take another stab at learning a different programming language. In the past I've tried to tackle C++ and kept getting stuck, but after reading a few tutorials I think I'm going to understand it better this time around.
After reading a few quick tutorials, i finished reading the FAQ thread here, and decided maybe it would be better to start with something easier first, such as python, as suggested. My past experience in scripting/programming, has consisted of HTML/ a little CSS/ and last year in school took a semester of Visual Basic. I combined my knowldege of html and vb to create a program to display poker game stats on a webpage, but I've found that there's not a whole lot you can do with VB, or with my knowledge of it.. I'd really like to learn how to implement API into my VB programs, but anytime i get near the subject, my A.D.D kicks in and i get lost. (I dont have A.D.D.
)
request/question time:
Is it worth my time to learn API for use in VB or should I just wait until i learn C++ (What i hope to learn eventually). Given my backround of some script/programming knowledge, would learning python be a step back? rephrased: Should i just move on to C++?
If it is worth my time to learn API, could someone help me out ;/ ?
Carefull how you answer that
, I'm going to have a million questions.
I think thats good enough for now.... and hello, hello, again.
