Best -all around- Necro Build
#1
What do you think is the best necro build? Is it the poison? The Summoner? The Pure bone one? A combination?
State your specific choice and tell us why!

I'd have to go with a Poisen Mancer because there pretty cheap but, they still can own. Wide range with Poisen Nova is great for lazy people like me haha.

I recently built a necro according to the Commando-mancer build that could be found on diabloii.net (with all due credit). An awesome build, in short it's a melee aura skelemancer. You don't need 1337 equpiment either. At the moment (lev 77), I'm using:
Coh
Baranar's Star (changing to Beast runeword)
Mara's
Raven Frost
Soj
Verdungo's
Eth Homonculus
Marrowwalk
Shako
(You also need 1 summoning skiller)

Skills:
Max Skeleton
Max Skeleton Mage
Max Skeleton Mastery
1 the rest of the summoning tree
1 Amplify Damage
1 Corpse Explosion
1 Teeth (pre-requisite)
1 Bone armor
rest on Poison Dagger (refer to the page if You need details on the Poison Dagger "bug")

With this equipment, You have lev 30 Skeletons, 30 Mages and 32 Mastery. This means that You have 24 skellies (12 each), over 10 revives, Fire Golem and together with the merc, they provide enough meatwall and do awesome damage.

Depending on how rich You are, stack Yourself and Your merc with as many auras as possible. My merc only has Shako, Shaftstop and Insight runeword, he kicks ***. With Beast runeword You get Fanaticism, I use a Might merc. Basically, try to stack as many auras as possible and You and Your skellies become real killers.

All due credit goes to the guy that posted this guide on diabloii.net, the build is called the Commando-mancer or something... I suggest You try this build, it's both fun and strong. Haven't tried uber-trist yet...

I would have to say that the hybrid summoner guide wich you will find under necromancer guides were the best build in 1.10
However, it took abuse of an exploit in the game to boost magic damage absorb. In the new patch my guide is not very good because the exploit is gone. I am currently working on an improvement for the loss of the exploit.
Please be pasient and wait for it.
Until that time, i would say that the bone necromancer is the best.

Yeah, to use Poisen Dagger you need o be using a dagger so a beast would'nt work bud.

No You don't.

"rest on Poison Dagger (refer to the page if You need details on the Poison Dagger "bug")"

Basically if You use a dagger, You get added poison damage and extra AR, however if You use the skill as Your primary attack (in the box next to Your health bar), You don't get the poison damage but You get the extra AR that You'll be hurting for as a necro. Some people claim that it doesn't work, but I think it does (through experience of going with and without it). It'll appear as unusable red, but when You move Your mouse over the AR box in the character screen, it appears blank but shows Your greatly raised AR. I know the screen lies occasionally whatever but I think that it works.
