AFK, hurricane
#1
That's right, hurricane. In case you guys haven't noticed, there's a hurricane coming straight to the Texas coast. A coast that I'm only 20 miles inland of. We haven't yet recieved the evacuation for Hurricane Rita, but it's coming this Friday night, or at least that is what is projected.

Needless to say, my family and I will, most likely, be displaced by Rita and I thought I would tell you guys beforehand that I don't know how long it will be until I can get online again. See ya.

I heard it was only a category 1 hurricane. Why leave? I can only see reason to leave from this hurricane if I lived in a floodable valley.

as long as the water temperature continues to rise, as it has been for the past few years, hurricanes will continue to form. more of them. more powerful storms.. the hurricane season will continue to grow larger.

that's what WE get for using things like aerosals and fossil fuels. if we screw our atomsphere she screws us. hello hurricanes and global warming, and later on a rushed ice age.

those of you who think i'm joking are totally out of your minds.
godspeed, get out while you can. a category four on your home can be devistating

yea bad news... Hurricane Rita is expacted the strengthen to a Categry 4 Hurricane which is sustained winds up to 135 MPH. Could cause some high storm surge and flodding. I expect that the Texas coast should evacuate immediatly. And by the way, havent we suffered enough..

I'm glad that Rita came now though, because since it's so close to the landfall of Katrina, the water is still cool, otherwise the storm would have definately reached Category 5.

No problem Tahu, and thanks. From what I've heard, the winds are reaching 150 miles per hour.

Also, the evacuation will be taking place at 2:00 AM tomorrow.

Hmmm, I'm not even 1 mile away from the coast. The place I heard it was supposed to hit is Port O Connor and I'm only about 40-50 miles from it. Got out from school an hour early and I also get Thursday and Friday off from it. Still no idea if we are gonna evacuate. Maybe I'll pull an Iraqi and stay.
