Update without CD

I want to know how to update my Diablo 2:lord of Destruction without having the CD in. If you manually download the patch, it asks for the CD at the end.
Any help? Or is it hopeless?

maybe not hopeless, but pointless. just put your damn cd key in and stop complaining.
 seriously how hard is it?
