Just ordered new sword!
#1
Whats up guys, i don't know if any of you are into collecting swords and such, but i found a place on ebay that makes authentic battle ready Jiagang forged swords and Damascus forged swords. i just ordered a Jiagang Sakabatou sword which if any of you keep up with it is the sword that Himura Kenshin Battousai (anime character) uses. the edge is actually on the reversed side of the blade and the blunt side and blood groove are on the striking side. now in the Anime Ruroni Kenshin (or samurai X) they claim the sword was made so he can no longer kill. well with his style of fighting this is true because he uses a style of sword drawing attacks which mean the sword stays sheathed until he's ready to strike and then the sword is drawn with lightning speed. But this style of sword was actually made for fatal combat with a different style of swordplay. the blunt striking edge is designed to overwhelm the opponents edged side and then come immediately back with the sharp side slicing the opponent. anywho now that i've given you a quick watered down history lesson here's the beatiful sword i ordered http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-BATTLE-READY-RA...dZViewItem

i didn't order it because it came off a tv show, i ordered it because its a real sword. i've bought quite a few swords but most are made as decorative swords and aren't very well made. this is a REAL sword forged in china. i think the test pictures of the Jiagang sword striking the comptetitor's swords speaks for itself. and why the **** would i want yu-gi-oh cards? you missed the point i think once again this is an ACTUAL BATTLE READY SWORD. it was not fashioned after a cartoon they actually used this style of sword in medieval china and japan. so pissss offffff

and yes slimp i may cut some heads if you guys don't quit flaming my hobby... i wish i had a flip u off smiley...

is it legal to carry these toys around?

its illegal to carry any blade over 4 inches in length on your person. i didn't buy it to run around like an uber noob and pretend to be on a cartoon, i bought it because IMO its a very well build sword and it would add a great deal to my collection. i'm hoping in another couple of months i can afford a damascus forged katana.

Well I'm impressed, that is a great price. I have a friend who has been trying to make damascus forged swords and I know that is a tedious process. Enjoy!
