Vespertine War of Lovers
The seas darken today’s fire
Tossed out from death-gripped waves
On the shore I lay desire
Logged and worn as morning fodder
Carried forever by seething mouths of foreign prey
Deep in thought and fortitude
That corpses dream where they lay
Rotting inside the buried entrails of May
Soon came Michael with tears to breathe
Tomorrow never came as it would seem
He died in that hole flowing upstream
Hills so dark can always scream
